Hey, I’m Sam. I am a modern-day girl in my twenties (see how I didn’t specify my age there…ha!) juggling adulthood while finding the time to take care of my fitness and health.
I grew up being active. From forcing my younger sister to rehearse and perform dance numbers to being a cheerleader in high school, there wasn’t a time where I didn’t move. K. Fine… That’s a lie. I have a slug-ish side too. But for the most part I was pretty active.
I also had a huuuge appetite! I could eat a truckload of food and still manage to eat an entire tub of ice cream after. My metabolism was so fast that the maximum weight I’d gain was probably 2 pounds and that was usually during the holidays.
Fast forward to a couple of years…
So, I stopped being active when I was around 18 – 19 years old. I only gained around 5 lbs during that time. My appetite was still huge, and I still ate a lot but that was the most I gained.
But then I hit my twenties!
This was the time when I started to really gain weight. I was drinking almost everyday with my friends, I quit college, I stopped going to my first job, my home life wasn’t that great (hence the drinking) and I just became a full on couch potato. Combine the drinking plus the bottomless appetite with being a lazy bum and what will you get? Yup, you guessed it, I gained a buttloaad of weight! I gained around 30 lbs in just a couple of months.
I tried everything!
I tried going on the military diet. If you do not know what the military diet is, it is a strict diet you follow for three days. Some people say they have lost over 10 lbs by doing this diet. So, I tried that and I only lasted a few hours on the diet. I ordered a huge big mac meal cause I was so hungry!
I tried working out almost everyday, but it never worked. I didn’t create or follow a workout plan and I didn’t alter my diet in any way. Now that I think about it, how did I think that that would give me any results at all?
Long story short:
I’ve tried and failed multiple times. It took years and a bunch of research to figure out how to be in control of my weight. Managing your bodyweight seems simple enough but when you actually try to do it, it isn’t as easy as it seems. There are so many factors to consider, and there are so many habits to break. Plus, how in the world are we supposed to find the time to work on our fitness and health whilst hustling and doing adult stuff?
Which is why I created Operation Hottie.
I created this site for people who want to lose weight, busy bees who want to be fit and healthy, anyone who wants to reach their dream bod but doesn’t know where to start.
