10 Best Cheap Fitness Watch & Trackers Everyone Should Own!

September 19, 2021

best fitness watch and trackers

You might want to keep up with your steps and other fitness activities. But, you don’t want to spend too much money on a fitness watch/tracker that does the job like most of its more expensive counterparts.

Regardless of what your fitness goal is, whether it is to lose weight, get lean and/or gain muscle, gain healthy weight, or just overall be healthier, fitness trackers can help you achieve that goal.

Check out these best cheap fitness watches and trackers everyone should own!

1. Fitbit Inspire 2

The Fitbit Inspire 2 is an affordable but highly functional fitness watch that shows the number of steps taken, estimated calories burnt, and amount of sleep you got at night. In addition to that, it also has a device called the relax app, which, as you might have guessed from the name, helps guide people to attain a relaxed state of mind.

It’s a great watch for beginners who want to keep track of their steps and other basic fitness activities. Plus, it’s lightweight and comfortable. It also has a battery life of up to 10 days, which is longer than other models.

Nonetheless, the Fitbit Inspire 2 doesn’t have GPS or many fitness tracking features. So, if you’re looking for something with more bells and whistles, this may not be the best cheap fitness watch for you.

Although the screen is smaller than others, it is still large enough to view and navigate. For example, it comes equipped with a vivid touchscreen display and a customizable clock face, measuring distance covered, heart rate, and more! You can also get it in various colors like black, white, and pink silicone if you want to mix things up.

2. Fitbit Charge 3

Here is a great option if you’re looking for a smartwatch with GPS, comfortable wearing, and allows easy access to all of your fitness information. Fitbit Charge 3, with the Fitbit app or via Bluetooth connection, you can view heart rate stats, texts, and smartphone notifications.

The Fitbit Charge 3 can track various activities, including bicycling, weightlifting, running, and more, with its 15+ exercise modes. Its battery should last up to 7 days on a charge which is more than enough for most people’s needs. More so, it’s waterproof, which means that you can go swimming with your wristband up to 50m.

It also tracks steps, distance, calories burned, floors climbed, and active minutes. This device gets an average of 4.3 out of 5 stars from 967 global ratings on Amazon.com. Many reviews praised the extended battery life and waterproof capabilities. But, several users complained that the gadget does not track their sleep and does not provide instructions.

Overall, Fitbit Charge 3 is a great budget fitness watch. This model has an OLED display and 24/7 heart rate monitoring, making it one of the best cheap watches. It comes in black/graphite, lavender woven/rose gold, blue-gray/rose gold, berry sport/rose gold, and frost white sport/graphite model.

3. Huawei Band 3 Pro

Fitness trackers are great for monitoring your physical activity, but there’s more to being a healthy person than just being active. The Huawei Band 3 Pro is a step towards making people more proactive about their health. It helps you keep track of your fitness and sleep patterns to help you make the best decisions for your health.

The Huawei Band 3 Pro is a lightweight, stylish device and looks. It has a high resolution, AMOLED color screen touch display and is fully waterproof up to 5 meters. This fitness tracker monitors calories, numbers of turns, and SWOLF while swimming. It also has a unique feature of intelligent feedback to help you improve your strokes. The battery will last you 12 days, which isn’t bad for a fitness watch.

This product also has GPS tracking for outdoor activities, call notifications, and real-time heart rate monitoring like any other fitness tracker. This watch is available in three color choices for customization options; Obsidian Black, Space Blue, and Quicksand Gold.

4. Amazon Halo

Amazon Halo is, by all means, an excellent fitness watch to own. It features step, sleep, and calorie counting functions even without a membership. If your budget permits, you can avail of the monthly membership fee to unlock more unique features, including tone analysis, body composition, sedentary time, and activity intensity.

With tone analysis, it will analyze your voice to give you an idea about how you sound to others. At the same time, body composition is a smartphone feature to measure your body-fat percentage with a photo.

But, the features above of Amazon Halo have created some privacy concerns among users. For tone analysis, the device will have to listen to your conversations while you talk, and it will process your photo with minimal clothes for the body composition function. Though Amazon responded that there are no conversations and pictures saved in their storage after analysis, it may still be a concern for some people.

Another significant drawback of this watch is that it doesn’t come with a screen, making it difficult to access information quickly. It also doesn’t come with a heart rate monitor.

Generally, it is still one of the best cheap fitness watches in the market with undeniably extraordinary features and looks. The battery life is decent, going up to 7 days of active use on a single charge. Additionally, its Halo Band is available in Black/Onyx, Winter/Silver, and Blush/Rose Gold colors.

5. Xiaomi Mi Smart Band 6

The Xiaomi Mi Band 6 represents the best value for money in this list. It is an affordable tracker with many features packed into it. The heart rate sensor can be used to monitor your pulse throughout the day, and you’ll get text notifications on your wrist as well. There’s also a 1.56-inch AMOLED screen that gives you real-time updates on your fitness progress, and it runs for up to 14days on a single charge.

Not only does it monitor steps and sleep, but it also has an SPO2 tracking feature which is essential during the pandemic. It comes in six strap colors with Black, Blue, Orange, Yellow, Olive, and Ivory options. Plus, it is compatible with both iOS and Android devices (requires Mi wearable app).

Though this fitness watch lacks a button and depends exclusively on the touch screen display, the screen’s durability will not disappoint you. This low-cost fitness tracker can measure your stress level by monitoring your breathing. It can also help to track your sleep quality, activities, and more.

The Xiaomi Mi Smart Band 6 would be an excellent choice for anyone who wants the best fitness band at an affordable price.

6. Garmin Vivosmart 4

Garmin Vivosmart 4 is an amazing cheap fitness watch that everyone can use, making it a perfect gift for fitness-conscious and healthy lives. This device can track your every move, giving you accurate data of steps, distance, sleep time, and calories. This watch also gives you reminders for how long you have been sitting or inactive to remind people to lead a healthy lifestyle.

Garmin Vivosmart 4 is also waterproof up to 5 meters and can be used for swimming, making it an attractive product. It can look amazing with your gym outfits! Plus, it has all-day stress tracking and allows you to connect your android smartphone to your fitness watch.

But,  some reviews from Amazon say that the SpO2 tracking feature of Garmin Vivosmart 4 is limited to only 4 hours.

Still, Garmin Vivosmart 4 is a good option given its specification and cost. With its 7-day battery life and 24/7 wearable feature, it is a dependent fitness tracker. You can avail it in gray with rose gold, black on midnight, berry with light gold, and light blue on silver.

7. Fitbit Luxe

Fitbit Luxe is a cheap fitness tracker that boasts a stylish, luxurious design. The Luxe lacks physical buttons and an inductive solid-state sensor that senses pressure to initiate an action. The only method to engage with the Luxe is via its touchscreen.

The disadvantage of Luxe’s tiny size is that its screen is similarly small with its 0.76-inch AMOLED display. Also, it doesn’t have features like a GPS tracker, voice assistants, and storing music. Its battery will only last for five days, a little shorter battery life compared to other models in this list.

Like any other standard fitness watch, the Luxe displays your calories burnt, the time elapsed, heart rate, and kilometers traveled when you exercise. It also features an SPO2 tracker, sleep score function, stress management tools, and six months trial of Fitbit Premium. This product is also completely waterproof to 50 meters, which is essential for its swim tracking function.

The bottom line is that the Fitbit Luxe is designed to cater to specific customers who want something that looks beautiful while still tracking their health indicators. It is available in Lunar White / Soft Gold Stainless Steel, Black / Graphite Stainless Steel, Orchid / Platinum Stainless Steel, and a Special Edition gorjana Soft Gold Stainless Steel Parker Link Bracelet.

8. Samsung Galaxy Fit 2

Another great option for a cheap fitness watch with some smartwatch functions is the Samsung Galaxy Fit 2. You can navigate through whole tweets, reply to notifications, and control music. Also, you can check your emails (only the subject line) and see notifications alerts from your smartphone. Plus, you can customize the watch face that is synced via the Samsung Galaxy Wearable app.

This product has sensors in the small, light athletic band frame that perform tracking steps, monitoring sleep, and monitoring your exercise automatically. It has an advertised battery life of up to 15 days, longer than other models, allowing you to utilize features like continuous heart rate monitoring. The new Galaxy Fit, like the original, will identify your activity automatically.

It has a little drawback: the lack of an SPO2 sensor may seem insignificant because of its almost complete health and fitness tracking features. Lastly, Galaxy Fit 2 has an AMOLED curved screen with 126 x 294 pixels high resolution and is waterproof at 5 atm or 5 meters.

9. Honor Band 5

The Honor Band 5‘s display is a 0.95-inch AMOLED screen, one of the fitness tracker’s striking new features with high brightness and vibrant colors. It has a 24-hour heart rate monitoring feature, useful for those who need continuous tracking.

The pedometer appears to be more accurate than the other model. It monitors your exercise activities, such as running, and the SpO2 reader also measures oxygen levels quite well. Honor Band 5 is also waterproof and swim-proof, allowing you to wear it during water activities or in showers. Also, it boasts its TruSleep technology accuracy at 95%, which monitors your sleep score.

Despite that, reviews say that Honor Band has a poor battery life when all features are turned on, contrary to their advertised 14-day battery life.

The Band 5 functions similarly to any other low-cost smart band, displaying alerts, buzzing when you set the alarm, and displaying the clock when you lift your wrist. It also comes in different colors like Meteorite Black, Coral Pink, Midnight Navy, and Olive Green.

10. Amazfit Band 5

The Amazfit Band 5 has a 1.1-inch color AMOLED display with a button housed in the vertical, rectangular housing. It is a very lightweight fitness watch weighing only 0.423 ounces. With OxygenBeats technology, you can measure your blood oxygen levels (SpO2), a popular health tool these days. Like other cheap fitness trackers, it has sleep tracking and stress monitoring functions.

Though it has decent display features, it might sometimes be difficult due to the small fonts used on some available watch faces. Plus, this device lacks built-in GPS, making you still rely on your smartphone for location features.

Despite these drawbacks,  Amazfit Band 5 offers a variety of health monitoring features. The basic heart rate sensor provides close readings as well as continuous monitoring all day. Another noteworthy feature is the built-in voice assistant Alexa where commands are entered through the tiny microphone at the casing’s bottom edge.

A unique specification that this fitness tracker offers is the women’s health tracking feature. It is a technology where women can monitor and track their menstrual cycle, which also prompts notifications. This product is also waterproof up to 5 ATM and detachable from the original band.
